JUMBO Seafood Debuts In Foodie Heaven – Taiwan! 

Not long ago in December, we launched our first-ever JUMBO Seafood franchise as part of a joint venture with Baipin Co., Ltd in Taipei, Taiwan. The new outlet marked our first foray into the destination known for its fresh produce, excellent service and lively food culture, much like what JUMBO is all about. 

Unsurprisingly, Baipin’s founder, Mr Henry Tseng, is also responsible for bringing the locals Michelin-starred restaurants such as Tim Ho Wan, Tsuta and Hawker Chan. This strategic partnership will drive the opening of at least eight JUMBO Seafood outlets across Taiwan, further expanding our footprint in North Asia. 

Group CEO Mr Ang Kiam Meng is confident going forward. “We are pleased that our expansion strategy in finding a strong local partner with deep knowledge, proven expertise as well as good network within the local F&B market has been progressing well,” he said. “With Mr Henry Tseng’s experience and established track record in Taiwan’s F&B industry, we believe we are on good footing to build up a strong business network in North Asia and extend the reach of the JUMBO brand in the region.” 

Opening day was filled with festivities as our exclusive guest list of over a hundred friends, business partners and Taiwanese media buzzed about the menu featuring a curation of the very best of JUMBO Seafood’s offerings. Whilst preserving the same high standards of food and service, this collaboration offers a slightly different kind of appeal. 

Boasting of Singapore-style, quirky batik kebaya uniforms, modish décor and a refreshing colour palette of white marble and vibrant blue, the new outlet is reflective of the stylish locale within Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in downtown Taipei, right next to the iconic Taipei 101. It also underlines the franchise’s strategy to reach out to young, trendy families and savvy, contemporary customers, furthering the brand’s ambition to bring the iconic taste of Chilli Crab to the world.
