OUR PEOPLE

“The company invests its time and effort in grooming me as an individual, and working here has brought much change in terms of my own self-improvement. The Dale Carnegie training course I’ve attended recently is one such example; it teaches me how to express myself effectively, along with different types of management skills that make me a better leader.”

We have a wonderful working environment here, with good communication between my fellow chefs. JUMBO is invested in our growth, and seeks to equip all of us with both inter-personal and professional skills. One of the most valuable experiences for me was a 2-year certification course I took in cooking, back in 2011, which I am still thankful for today.

“My colleagues and I share a great rapport; we all get along really well.  I have no trouble communicating with my managers and they are extremely caring towards us. We are like one big family! I also learn things in JUMBO that I didn’t learn elsewhere, and the training courses they provide really help to make me a more well-rounded individual.”

“There is a mutual respect between colleagues here, and we treat each other with good manners—such a culture is not easily found everywhere. I appreciate that there is also room for me to develop my own creativity; the JUMBO Culinary Challenge is one such opportunity created by the company to give us chefs a chance to innovate and create new dishes.”

“There is a positive working spirit in JUMBO which I appreciate. Even if work gets tiring sometimes, you won’t feel it when everyone is still laughing and happy!  And despite coming to JUMBO without any prior experience, the company enrolled me in a 2-year Nitec course to help me build my skills.”

“My bosses are incredible people. Even when I got into an accident and was unable to work for 3 months, they chose not to let me go—this sort of kindness and generosity truly makes it worthwhile for me to stay. Having been immersed in Singapore’s culture, my English has also undoubtedly improved by leaps and bounds!   “
