JUMBO’s plans to expand its presence internationally continue with much robustness and vigour. On 5 May 2017, we gained new ground on foreign shores with the opening of our first JUMBO Seafood franchise outlet in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam! This 172-seater venue is situated in the heart of the city’s commercial life - Dong Khoi District - where a blend of old colonial architecture and high-rise buildings mark this vicinity as a flourishing destination for both locals and tourists alike. Joining the list of international brands, chic cafes and well-known restaurants in this district, JUMBO Seafood was all raring and ready to wow the palates of the people in Ho Chi Minh City.
Upon stepping foot into our new outlet, a true JUMBO Seafood aficionado may notice the interior draws inspiration directly from the décor in our restaurants in Shanghai, keeping pace with its air of modernity and sophistication. Decked in warm, earthy colours paired with creative 3D motifs on the walls, the entrance is the first sign that you are in for a wholesome, hearty experience.

Spanning across the dining hall is a panoramic view of the city across the river that offers a feast for the eyes. In the day, one can leisurely enjoy the hustle and bustle of vibrant city life happening along the riverwalk. Come nightfall, a picturesque skyline of the city complements the dining experiences of our customers. This outlet also houses six private rooms to cater to the preference for an intimate meal, or business meetings.

“After months of planning, we have finally opened doors in Vietnam. We believe that the market presents a lot of potential considering the response we have been getting for our very first franchise outlet. We are excited to fly the Singapore flag high, bringing our food culture right into the heart of one of Ho Chi Minh’s most loved districts. Our restaurant will surely lend added flavour and spice to up the culinary experience in Dong Khoi!” said Group CEO Mr Ang Kiam Meng during the soft launch of the new outlet on 28 April 2017, which was attended by VIP guests such as the Chairman of Novaland Group and his family, business partners, JUMBO’s management and staff.

Since its opening, JUMBO Seafood has created a buzz amongst the local foodies, grabbing the attention of even the Consulate-General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City, who soon came to experience the food for himself.

“News travel fast! Many customers, both locals and tourists alike,  come just to have a taste of our well-known Singapore Chilli Crab. At the same time, we are heartened to know that many other items on our menu have become hot favourites too!” beamed Mr Tan Chiah Liang, our General Manager of Franchise.

With confidence that JUMBO will continue to capture the hearts of the people in Vietnam, the opening of a second outlet in Danang, Bach Dang Street, Hai Chau District along the Han River is already underway. This outlet is set against a calm, soothing ambience amid scenic surroundings. Beyond the shores of Vietnam, JUMBO also has plans to expand its regional footprints to other markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau in the future.
